For the 3-day Power-Gen International Conference for the energy industry, PeopleReady wanted to have a fun and exciting solution to grab the attendees’ attention on the show floor while also spreading awareness about their company and brand and gathering new leads within the industry.


The plan was to run a three day long Instant Win Game (IWG) SpinZone promotion, specially designed for trade shows, that would be played on large television screens at PeopleReady’s booth. People who visited the PeopleReady booth would sign up and play for a chance to win great prizes such as Amazon gift cards and Bluetooth speakers. What’s more, everyone who played was also entered into the grand prize Sweepstakes drawing at the end of the trade show for the grand prize, a Vespa scooter. The grand prize winner would be announced at the end of the conference on PeopleReady’s big screens at their booth.


Contest Factory implemented and delivered to PeopleReady a customized IWG SpinZone game based on design assets provide by PeopleReady. At the PeopleReady booth during show floor hours, users would visit and register to play the SpinZone game on PeopleReady’s TV screens. Once registered, booth attendants would hand the users a detonator button connected to the SpinZone game, and the players would then press the button to start the game. Like a slot machine, the SpinZone spinners kept spinning until landing on three images to show to the player. If all three spinners landed on a matching prize image, the player would be a winner of that prize. Even if a player failed to win at the SpinZone game, they were still added into the grand prize drawing and invited to return to PeopleReady’s booth at the end of the conference for a chance to win the Vespa scooter.

Near the end of the conference, Contest Factory randomly selected a winner from all the SpinZone players, and PeopleReady announced the grand prize winner in front of a large audience of eager conference attendees at its booth. The grand prize winner was announced on PeopleReady’s big screen in spectacular fashion through Contest Factory’s custom designed and developed winner announcement module in real time.


The SpinZone promotion was a resounding success for PeopleReady. Thanks to SpinZone, PeopleReady had over 700 visitors to its booth to play the game, and greatly expanded its brand awareness amongst leading companies in the energy industry.

Over the 3-day event, over 700 people played our Vespa sweepstakes game, and over 100 people crowded our booth for the grand prize announcement. The SpinZone tool worked perfectly! About 30% of visitors were pre-qualified as leads requiring immediate follow up from our sales teams. We are expecting at least a 10x first year ROI from the event.
